Joe Joe
Papa Joe Aviance here. You’ve probably heard my music or seen my shirts, but I want to tell you a little about how this all came together. I began my journey with humble roots in Saginaw, Michigan, where I was a first hand observer as my grandfather set up a successful business. These memories would stay with me and determine my course for the rest of my life. When I was older and ready to face the world, I made my way to New York City. Once there, the business sense instilled in me came to fruition as I successfully worked my way up the ranks on Wall Street, developing skills and abilities that have benefited me in all the years to come. When I felt I had learned enough about myself and the world there, I moved on to Hollywood, where I pursued dreams of becoming an actor and musical talent. Despite some promising gigs I landed, I was still employed at a video store, watching hours fall off the clock and longing for something more.
That something would come along on an unexpected day when Eddie Amador, world famous DJ and producer, walked in to rent a movie. He and I got to talking about music and before we knew it, we were working together on a song. With the collaboration of Eddie Cumana and Alan T, we made a track called “NOW” on KULT Records. While waiting for its release, I was lucky enough to feature on another song from KULT, this one by international house music sensation Lula. It was called “Last Night a DJ Saved My Life,” and it shot all the way to number 6 on the Billboard Dance Charts. A few months later, “NOW” was released, and this song represents my vision for how to be: Stop talking about it, and live your life NOW. This has continued to be my motto, as I recorded more songs with Eddie and further developed my craft.
And this very motto has taken me through more than just music. Realizing how fascinating it would be for an outside audience to see what the process of making it in Hollywood is like, I began recording my experiences. This would end up being the “Rise of a Superstar” series, which takes a behind the scenes look at what my life is like. From this I have put together a production crew, Papa’ Joe Networks, which has a lot more in store for everyone.
As if that was not enough, I’ve also developed a clothing line, Joe Joe, named after myself and my Grandfather who taught me so much about the world. The line is both extremely comfortable as well as stylish to wear, incorporating my different song lyrics and allowing people to express themselves in a musical way. Between these three companies, it’s easy to see what a difference working hard and going after your dreams can really make.
And this is only the beginning. As time goes on, who knows what other magical things my team and I will dream up… but stay tuned… because whatever it is, you can be sure that I’m gonna be living and loving it NOW!!!
All my love,
Papa Joe
