Trylon Vet Care
GENERAL HEALTH
Companion animal medicine has made great strides in recent years. Pets are now enjoying longer, healthier, and happier lives with their human companions. Periodic physical examinations for all types of pets is the cornerstone of exceptional preventive health care. This affords us the chance of early disease detection and treatment. Wellness exams, in addition to annual vaccines are important to establish baselines and notice subtle changes that may not be apparent. Current standards recommend at least 2 exams annually for healthy adult pets. Puppies and kittens should begin their vaccinations at 6–9 weeks of age. All pets should receive annual boosters. For our exotic pets such as birds and reptiles, rabbits and other small mammals, since their life years are different than dogs and cats, twice yearly wellness exams are also recommended. We look forward to helping you enjoy the happiness that a healthy pet can provide!
AVIAN AND EXOTIC PET CARE
As the popularity of exotic pet ownership increases, we strive to help educate our clients about proper husbandry and care for their Avian and Exotic pets. One of the biggest challenges Exotic pet owners face is that most of these animals learn to become “Masters of Disguise” when it comes to showing illness or weakness. In nature, it’s survival of the fittest and most of these animals are faced with predators daily and learn to mask any signs that mark them as “weak”. As the New York State Liaison for the Association of Avian Veterinarians, and member of the AEMV and ARAV, Dr.Wyler takes a special interest in all of our exotic companions.
