Blonde hair, red hair, black hair and every color in between. The glamour and high heels and fabulous costumes all make up Joie Starr. Beauty on the outside with a Rock in’ Roll heart. Joie Starr first emerged in Fayetteville, North Carolina and soon migrated to the bright lights of Raleigh, North Carolina. While living and performing in Raleigh she worked at “The Power Company”, “Detours Nightclub”, “Glenwood”, “The Mouse Trap” and “Sensations”. Joie traveled all over North Carolina and performed in many other states as well. Joie devoted time and performances to Aids Research when people only whispered the words. Being deeply rooted in the South Joie loves big hair, high heels and anything that sparkles. For several years Joie worked the show business circuits of the South and North and all in between. In 1986 she needed more excitement in her life so she packed her drag and her rhinestones and headed to New York City! If she thought the lights in Raleigh were bright then lights in New York City must have been the brightest of all. Joie began to perform in and around New York City and soon landed her first television show “The Equalizer” who knew? Joie worked for years in the metropolitan area and decided to have herself a long needed break from the business of show. Then has fate would have it in late 2004 she was asked to record a CD called ABBAlicious for Figjam records. At the onset Joie was a bit hesitant to say yes. After weeks of soul searching Joie decided she still needed the business of show in her life and signed on the dotted line. Joie has not looked back and continues to move forward and enjoys entertaining the masses. She sends you all her love and thanks. Joie Starr will never leave again!
