The Soft Hills

The Soft Hills are the musical adventure of Garrett Hobba, Brittan Drake, Randall Skrasek, and Brett Massa. A Seattle-based band with as much affinity for sweet melodies as experimentation, their songs draw from a wide range of influences from folk to psychedelic to ambient, drawing on literary and philosophical themes, and incorporating experiences from dreams and the extraterrestrial.

Listeners sometimes compare them to The Flaming Lips because of their simple heartfelt melodies which spiral into space.

Launching Seattle Night Out Radio

Two Entrepreneurs…

and a staff of music industry leaders in Seattle announce the launch of the Night Out Radio.org online radio station. Seattle Night Out Radio.org will stream through an online media player at http://seattle.nightoutradio.org/.

Seattle Night Out Radio will be an online radio station featuring an exciting mix of  Seattle W. WA bands and artists. The station will feature a starting line-up of 14 genres of Rock, Latino, Acoustic, Hip Hop, Blues, Comedy, Country, Dance, Jazz, Metal, Rap, and R&B. In addition to its eclectic mix of music, the radio station will include wine and food interviews on Table Talk Radio hosted by Jamie Peha, and local authors reading from their books on  the Spoken Word channel hosted by Jon Collier. Other surprises are sure to be in store, as exclusive interviews and live podcast are planned, including live podcasts at major events hosted by Reza Malayeri through VOKLE. Once the Internet radio station goes live June 23, 2011, listeners are encouraged to check in with Seattle Night Out Radio often to keep track of new tracks added by your favorite local bands and artists as well as important news about their events, and opportunities to win prizes. With a music legend like Bernadette Bascom involved in the formatting of the R&B channel, listeners won’t want to miss a thing — since the mix they will hear on all our the 14 channels on Seattle Night Out Radio will not be available anywhere else.

According to American Media Services, Internet radio is one of the fastest-growing online media categories. The weekly Internet radio audience has doubled every five years since 2001 and now reaches an estimated 57 million people per week, based on the most recent Arbitron and Edison research. In fact, Arbitron stated that 10% of that group listens regularly to the Internet radio service Pandora and tunes in for an average of almost ten hours per week. The research also points out that use of smartphones has nearly doubled in the past year with 31% using the devices and their applications.

Seattle Night Out Radio will bring some added  flavor to this emerging market  and will  improve the exposure of local bands and artists. We hope to  involve our local community more into the rich history that is Seattle music; and involve  Internet-radio-listeners everywhere!

ABOUT CHELSEA

Chelsea Musick Yes , Musick, that’s her real last name pronounced, “music”. She released her self-titled debut album, recorded in Nashville. Chelsea co-produced all 11 songs on the album . She wrote 8 of the 11 songs on her CD. Chelsea is already getting regular airplay National Radio AirPlay and is being featured on WXTU in Pennsylvania for her single Keep Your Pants On.

Chelsea has been performing for audiences since the age of 2 years old. It may have something to do with being born in Tennessee.
Now living in New Jersey, Chelsea is a country girl at heart, with big dreams and big plans for Music City. Im a normal girl, with a huge dream, states Chelsea.

Chelsea believes and promotes, within her music and image, a positive message and sound. She inspires the teen and tween generation to help them STAY TRUE TO WHO THEY ARE , without losing who they are & without conforming to the peer pressures of todays society.

Chelsea just finished a National Muti-State Spring Tour across the country with iShine. Chelsea can curently be seen on a World- Wide TV Show called iShine Knect, which airs every Saturday @ 1 p.m. EST on TBN.
She is currently booking her Summer and Fall Tour schedule.

Chelsea has had the honor of performing with, or opening for many great country artists in the couple of years, including Mark Wills, Lone Star, Sara Evans, Jason Michael Carroll, Sara Johns, The LostTrailers, and Gloriana and several performances for the Philadelphia 76ers . She has performed in the Inaugural Ceromonies/ Events for the past 3 Governors of the State of New Jersey.

The Military and the Veterans are really special to Chelsea. Her father is one of them! He was in the 101st Airborne Division. He spent 10 months in the desert in The First Gulf War on the Iraq/Saudi border. He is out of the Army now. He is part of the American Legion and the VFW.

At 9 years old, Chelsea competed on National Television on the TV show NBCs Americas Most Talented Kid in California @ Universal Studios.
At 13, Chelsea co-wrote I Wish You Were Here which was included on a charity project called Songs for the Cure.
All proceeds from her song were and still are being donated to charity to continue the fight against cancer.

Now at the age of 17, Chelsea Musick is one of the freshest new Country acts on the rise. In the past few months, Chelsea has brought a new sound to the Country music scene. She is beginning to get air play at the radio stations, and HD radio.

Viv Peyrat and The Revival

I’ve played music my whole life, and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I live to hear beautiful sounds and create noise. I’ve only recently learned that you have to do whatever you want to do and be whoever you want to be, because that is the only way you will be happy. I write songs about life, love, hope and peace… and everything in between. To quote one of my favorite artists, Bob Marley, “The one good thing about music is when it hits, you feel no pain”… I want every person that ever comes to one of my concerts or listens to one of my songs to feel something, and to connect to the sounds… life is one long extended moment filled with everything you can imagine, so as we all continue to make beautiful noise together, we remember that every time we wake up, we start again, a new beginning, a Revival….

Jun 24, 2008 – In an effort to broaden their marketing efforts, Lock 3 Park has embraced Social Media to attract patrons.

Using a variety of online tools, including MySpace, Twitter, Flickr and a blog, Lock 3 Park is ahead of the curve when it comes to concert marketing in Northeast Ohio.

“Last year, City of Akron Deputy Mayor Dave Lieberth and I discussed using MySpace as part of our marketing campaign, but the timing wasn’t right,” Social Media Director Kevin Lockett said. “This year, we jumped in with both feet and the response has been quite exciting.”

Indeed, during the course of the week Mr. Lockett (who also manages a music blog) uses social media in various ways including:

+ Using the Lock 3 Park blog to promote future shows and post photos that link to the photo sharing page Flickr.

+Commenting on the forums of Lock 3 performers like rockers Great Big Sea and R&B ingénue Ledisi to inform their fans about their future Lock 3 performances as well answer their questions about the venue and Akron.

+ Personally thanking artists through their MySpace page for performing at Lock 3 Park.

Although Lock 3 Park’s home page (Lock3live.com) receives more traffic than their blog or MySpace page, Mr. Lockett and Marketing Coordinator Maria Nagel are encouraged by the progress of the social mediums and are planning to use other online tools like YouTube to create more opportunities which may include an online contest.

“There’s always ways we can improve our links, but I’m glad that we’re ahead of curve”, Mr. Lockett said confidently.

“We’re still using traditional media like print, radio, brochures and TV to promote our events, but the fact that we are pushing the envelope by using social media to promote our concerts, puts us way ahead of our competition, not just locally, but also nationally.”
